Taped Gradient with Glequins

I did a taped gradient ages ago, so I thought it might be time to revisit them. I'm so glad I did! I did add an accent nails with no gradient this time though, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I added the accent nails because I really wanted to do some more glequin chevrons. I did want to do them on all my nails, but as I sat down to that, I realized the mere thought of it made me want to cry.
I did a base colour of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. The colours I used for the gradients and the dots are China Glaze Designer Satin, Electric Pineapple, 2True Mila, W7 Matt Green, and an un-named Primark blue. I added the glequins to my ring finger and topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I need lots more practise on placing the glequins, and maybe trying out new combo's to do them in. I kinda wish I had done a taped gradient on all my nails, although I am glad I did attempt the chevrons, they just don't seem to do with this mani.

Glequin Chevron

I used one coat of Scofflaw Drop Dead Fred over Sinful Colours Pistache as the base. Nails Inc Culross Street over the edge of the nail with some coopery/orangey glequins over the top to disguise my bad freehanding. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Sorry about the super quick post today, I think I might be coming down with something, as my brain just doesn't want to work today. I mean I put a plate in the bin instead of the sink. I just stared at this post waiting for words to describe these nail, but none came. Sorry =[

Russian Navy and Princess Tears

I'm going to add these nails to my mental note that Princess Tears does in fact, look great stamped over anything! This polish hasn't met a base colour it hasn't liked yet. Maybe I should try it over a lighter base colour sometime though, as I always seem to use it over dark colours.
I did a base colour of Opi Russian Navy. The stamping was done with A England Princess Tears and Moyou Sailor 4, a favourite stamping plate at the moment. I topped it off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I loved wearing these, I think it was the sparkle of Princess Tears that did it for me though, as  even stamped the holo and the slight douchrome that the polish has still shows up. I can't seem to photograph any of that though.

I've been a bad blogger, I'm sorry. I didn't plan to disappear, but I worked loads over Valentines day, and then I just didn't feel like painting my nails. So I'm hopefully back into the swing of things now, starting with these cute sea themed nails!
I did a base colour of Manglaze ILF, I stamped with Moyou White, and MoYou Sailor 04. I topped it all off with Bourjios So Matt, as I wanted to keep the matte look of the base colour.

How amazing is that base colour though? It's a bit more green-y seafoam in real life, and I love it! Plus it dried really quickly which is always a bonus. I can see myself using this colour a lot in the future.

Another MoYou stamping today! I don't think I'm ever going to get bored of this brand, at least not any time soon anyway. I'm still a little daunted about the full plate images even though I've used them a few times, but mostly just because I can never tell how good it'll look on my nail. I've sort of practised that here, although the image isn't a full plate one, more of a half plate one, it's still got lots of different designs in the same image. Did any of that make sense?
I did base colours of China Glaze Fast Track, with Black Cat Lacquer We Own The Sky (another grab bag polish). I stamped using MoYou Tourist plate 13, and Accessorize Aquamarine. I added one of the neon stars to create a little accent. Everything was topped off with a coat of China Glaze Fast Forward.

I've had Fast Track for well over a year, and I think I've only ever used it once before this. Why? This polish is gorgeous! Although the topcoat seemed to dull the shimmer for some reason, that was weird. It looks like sand though, and I wonder what it'll look like matte aswell?

Teen Angst

I have a sort of swatch post today, which feels weird as I don't really do those. I bought a 3 bottle grab bag from Rainbow Connection, and the glitter polish I'm using today is from that. While it's not something I would have picked myself as I'm not a fan of star/heart shaped glitter in polishes, I do like this and I'm glad it was in the grab bag.
I did a base colour of Sinful Colors Innocent, with Black Cat Lacquer Teen Angst over the top. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Not completely sure of the base colour I used, it was the same colour as some of the glitters in the topper, but it contrasts nicely with the pink. Also when I removed these, I had bright yellow stains on my nails (even though I worn a base coat under Innocent), in little patches not over the whole nail. I'm not sure if it was the glitter in this polish that caused it, or if was just that I used a staining base colour. I'm hoping it wasn't from the glitter polish, as I really liked it on, it would be great for summer.

Multi-colour Stamping

I had new MoYou plate arrive the other day, because you can never have too many and there's alway rooms for more. The Sailor plate had to be used first, I just loved the one I bought, it's got some wonderful patterns on it. I was really unsure about what colours to do the stamping in though, so I decided to re-visit the multi-colour stamping, it didn't go aswell as I'd hoped, I ended up with what looked like gradient for some reason.
I did a base colour of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. I used MoYou Sailor plate 04 with Barry M Raspberry, Bright Purple, Cyan Blue, and 2True Mila for the stamping. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

The thumb has to be my favourite nail, it turned out closest to what I imagined for this mani. I think if I had been going to gradients I would have been so pleased at how these came out, maybe I should try gradient stamping again?

Splatter Studs and Glitter

I feel like I've only used MoYou stamping plates recently, maybe that because I have only used those plates, so I decided to dig out an old favourite from Bundle Monster. I can't remember the last time I used this cloud image, but when I first started stamping I used it all the time, so it only seemed fair to return to it.
I used A England Galahad as my base colour, with Girly Bits 8 Crazy Nights over it on the index and pinky. I stamped using Barry M Blackberry, with BM-312. I added the splatter stud on the ring as an accent, and topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I haven't managed to capture the studs very well, but they are really cool, as all my other studs are simple plain colours. You can get them from She Sell Sea Shells, along with all sorts of other super cheap nail art stuff.
