Aztec Stamped

Here's the post I off what I was planning to do with Aztec before realizing it's glory. A nice subtle stamping. I went with a different stamping image as I didn't want to cover up too much of Accessorize Aztec.
Base colour of Aztec, stamped with Barry M Plum and Bundle Monster image BM-312. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I keep forgetting that I can stamp with the Barry M Gelly's. Plum stamps wonderfully, I think I need to catalogue my nail polishes or something, so that I don't keep forgetting about ones that I have.

Accessorize Aztec

I have never used this polish as a base colour before, so I thought I should give it a go. Man, I should have layered it, this is four coats. Anyway I decided to do a swatch post of this beauty before I stamped over it, as it's much nicer than it looks in the bottle.
Yup, four coats of multi-chrome-y goodness. I didn't use a top coat for these pictures as it was quite shiny on it's own.

I could have easily put about 100 photos on this post, but I settled on these. It's much more multi-chrome in real life. I can't believe I've never worn this on it's own before. You need this polish.

Pretty Pastels

A little break from all the stamping I seems to be doing lately, but only to go back to a gradient. I bought some bullion beads from Poundland a while ago, and then promptly forgot about them. I finally used them, although I was a little worried about the colour on them running when I added the top coat. The colour did run a little, but not as much as I thought they would.

I did a base colour of W7 White, with Barry M Mint Green on the ring. I then sponged on Barry M Berry I/C and Mint Green until I had a gradient I was happy with. I added the bullion on the ring with pink and teal. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.
I really like the placement of the bullion I went with here. I think I might be using it quite often from now on, as I could do it with glequins, or just a dotting

I'm Blue

I haven't worn A England Galahad for a while now, and it was just calling out to me. It has to be one of my favourite blues, plus you can get away with one thick coat of it. Although I did two here just to be on the safe side.

Base colour of Galahad. I stamping using Accessorize Sapphire and Bundle Monster plate BM-317. I topped it all off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Some of the stamp didn't transfer properly when I stamped it, but it isn't too noticeable. I quite like the image I used though, even though when ever I look through my plates I always overlook it.

Surprising Stamping

I've had this colour scheme in mind for ages, and I finally got around to doing it. I was wondering if Opi Every Month Is Oktoberfest would be good for stamping, and what colour it would stamp as it seems very blue when you do the first coat of it on the nail. I'm so glad I stamped using it though, it's much better than I cold have imagined.

I did a base colour of China Glaze Kalahari Kiss. I stamped using Every Month Is Oktoberfest and Bundle Monster plates BM-205 and BM-210. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Seriously, look at that stamping colour! I love it, it's kind of blurple but it has the red shimmer in it when it hits the light. Which you can just about see in the index in the photo below.

Finally using an untried

I bought a few W7 polishes months ago, that I kept forgetting to use, so I decided t break one out for this post today. Oh. My. God. It's gorgeous, I should have worn it ages ago! It's Metallic Neptune, and I just love it. Although the duo-chrome-y doesn't show up on the nail as it does in the bottle.

I did a base colour of Metallic Neptune. I then stamped over it with Bundle Monster plate BM-305 using Barry M Silver Foil. I added some glequins to the ring finger, as I had wanted to try a different look using them. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I quite the glequin placement I used here, although I think I might do them horizontal next time. And yes one came off before I could even put the top coat on, the shame!

Not another skittle mani....

As I said in my last post, I did a gradient that took ages, so I decided to leave it on when I took off the other nails I did. Plus it was my favourite nail from that mani. I decided to turn it into a skittle mani using two off the colours in the gradient, as I thought using all four would be overkill.

I did base colours of Manhattan 6 on my pinkie and index, W7 White on the ring and China Glaze Designer Satin on the thumb (not pictured as my pictures with my thumb always look so awkward). I added little half pearl studs in pink in my pinkie and blue on my thumb, I did a coat of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie on my index. I then stamping with Moyou Black and Cheeky plate CH6. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I prefer these nail much more than my owl nails I did previous. I think there was too much going on in them, but these are nice and simple. Although stamping with that striped image was a right pain! It took ages for me  to get it to stamp right and not smudge it as I stamped.

Inspired by an owl decoration

I bought an owl decoration for my room a while ago, and I decided to do some nail art based on some of the designs on the owl. I think it's supposed to be an outdoor decoration, but it looks great in my room, plus it's the same colours as the storage drawers I keep my nail polish in.

I not going to do a nail by nail description, but just list the polishes I used as otherwise it would take too long. So here goes; Barry M Block Orange, China Glaze Designer Satin, Starboard, Manhattan 6, NYC Lexington Yellow, W7 Black, White. I topped everything off with Chine Glaze Fast Forward.

Each nail is based on part of a design on the owl, except the gradient nail, I added that as a nail to try to tie most of the colours I used together. I need so much more practise on gradients with more than two colours though it seems. I'm fairly certain it took me the better art of an hour to do that one nail! I just couldn't get the colours on the sponge to all fit on my nail properly. I'm not entirely happy with the way these came out, but they took me so long, which is why as soon as I took the photos, they came off (except for the gradient).

Here's a picture of my owl, isn't she cute?

This mani has got to be the first mani that has come together effortlessly. I bought two of the new foils from NYC and I just had to use Magic Earth as soon as I got it home. I got out some colours I wanted to use with it, as as soon as I saw them all next to each other, I just knew I had to do this mani. Plus Magic Earth and A England Merlin just had to be in the same mani, it's a shame I didn't have any mint greens with magical names.

I did a base colour of B. Complete Seafoam, with Barry M Silver Foil on the index. I sponged on a gradient using Seafoam and Magic Earth. and stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM-201 and Magic Earth. I did two coats of A England Merlin on my index finger. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I love these nails, I think it's the silver accent that makes me love them. It just seems like such a lovely colour combo to me. The gradient is not my best, I think it might be because I tried to use a metallic one coater with   a creme that required three coats.

Another green mani, I seriously need to stop automatically going to my green polishes when I do my nails. I will say that the two I used here are probably some of my favourite polishes, when ever I want a green polish these are the two I take out first.

I did a base colour of Essence Upper green side, with A England Dragon on the ring finger. I stamped with Dragon using Cheeky plate CH52. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I love the look of Dragon over Upper Green Side. It's not as overpowering as a darker green would have been. Plus the holo in the polish give the stamping a wonderful sparkle.

Gotta Catch 'Em All

I've wanted to do Pokemon nails for a while now, but I could never decide on what Pokemon to do. I finally settled on one of my faves Raichu. I love him, he's just so cute. He didn't quite turn out how I wanted, but it's not awful.

I did a base colour of Barielle Swizzle Stixs. I did Raichu using a mix of Barry M Block Orange and W7 White, W7 Black, NYC Lexington Yellow, and Manhattan 2. I stamping using Cheeky image plate CH48, with Bundle Monster plate BM-305 on my thumb with Barry M Gold Foil. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

Hopefully you can see that it's supposed to be Raichu,  it was the best I was going to get him. Well even if you can't tell it's him, I still think it looks cute.

The mani I had to show you today, is inspired by my Ipod case. It's just a cheap case I got from ebay for like £3 or something, but it's just so adorable. It's light blue with multi-coloured owls all over it. I went with something a bit simpler on my nails though.

I did base colours of Hit Apolo with A England Iseult on my ring finger. I used Barry M Cobalt Blue, Block Orange, Barielle Swizzle Stixs, W7 White, Black and Manhattan 2 to create the little owl. I topped everything off with China Glaze Fast Forward.

I'm so proud of how the little owl came out, as I was a bit unsure about it when I started doing him, but I'm so glad I finished him. I only wish I had been able to do the tiny hearts on his chest a bit better, but hopefully you can tell that they are hearts.

Here's a picture of the case that served as my inspiration. Isn't it cute?
